Η Ιστορία μου
Η προσπάθεια είναι εμπνευσμένη από το παραδοσιακό γαϊδουράκι της Κύπρου. Το αρχικό σκίτσο δημιούργησε ο γελοιογράφος ΠΙΝ. Η γλύπτρια Τόνια Παπαπέτρου ετοίμασε το πρώτο γύψινο γλυπτό, το ζωγράφισε και το παρουσίασε στην Κεντρική Ασφαλιστική η οποία το υιοθέτησε και το βάφτισε “Smiling Donkey”. H γλύπτρια δημιούργησε μία σειρά από “Smiling Donkeys” σε μπρούτζινο μικρό επιτραπέζιο, σε φυσικό μέγεθος από υαλόνημα για εξωτερικούς χώρους, μεσαίο μέγεθος από υαλόνημα ζωγραφισμένα και μικρά πήλινα ζωγραφισμένα για κλειστούς χώρους. Τα πρώτα δύο σε φυσικό μέγεθος ζωγράφισαν ο εικαστικός Νικόλας Λαδόμματος και ο γελοιογράφος ΠΙΝ. Η πρώτη παρουσίαση έγινε το 2019 σε εκδήλωση στο Δημοτικό Θέατρο Λευκωσίας
My Story
The project is inspired by the traditional donkey of Cyprus. The original drafts and drawings for it were created by cartoonist PIN. Afterwards, sculptor Tonia Papapetrou created and painted the first plaster sculpture and presented it to Kentriki Insurance Co. Impressed by its big smile, the team of Kentriki Insurance named it the “Smiling Donkey”. Based on the first Smiling Donkey, sculptor Tonia Papapetrou created various sizes. These are: miniature bronze ornamental, life-size fiberglass for outdoors exhibitions in roads and squares, medium-sized fiberglass painted for indoor exhibition, small-sized clay painted for indoor exhibition. The first two life-size models were painted by the artist Nicholas Ladommatos and the cartoonist PIN. These were presented at an event at the Municipal Theatre of Nicosia.
